How long does the battery last?
Up to 18 months between charges. That figure assumes a conservative reporting cadence — pushing to a 30-second interval for live tracking will shorten it considerably, which is exactly the trade you are meant to make per deployment.
How frequently does the device report?
It can be configured to report every 30 seconds, once an hour, or every 6 hours, and you can change the interval remotely from the GPX platform. Faster reporting always costs battery life, so most customers run a slow cadence day to day and speed it up when something needs watching.
What are tamper alerts, exactly?
A sensor inside the device detects when someone attempts to remove it from the asset and proactively raises an alert. It matters because theft is normally discovered long after the fact — an immediate alert is what turns a write-off into a recovery.
