Frequently asked questions about the ECO1 from GPX Intelligence
The Eco1 shipment tracker features a 1,500 mAh lithium battery designed to last between 2 to 2.5 months, with the exact duration depending on your chosen reporting frequency.
The Eco1 is a unique shipment tracker, specifically designed to report ambient temperature, relative humidity, and ambient light during transit, in addition to its location reports. Unlike traditional GPS trackers, the Eco1 does not have a GPS antenna; instead, it utilizes cell tower and Wi-Fi locations for its positioning data.
By default, the Eco1 reports every 4 hours. You can also configure it to report more frequently, with options for every 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or every hour. Keep in mind that more frequent reporting will naturally lead to a shorter battery life.
Installing the Eco1 is quick and easy. Simply peel off the protective backing from the built-in sticker and firmly attach the tracker to your shipment’s surface. Before your shipment departs, be sure to press the power button until a green LED appears to confirm the device is active.
The Eco1 primarily leverages the powerful AT&T cellular network. For enhanced reliability, if a cellular signal is unavailable, the Eco1 can also report its location using mapped Wi-Fi addresses.
The Eco1 has verified coverage and is designed to operate within the United States, Canada, Alaska, and Mexico.
For optimal performance, the Eco1, like many tracking devices, works best when placed in an unobstructed location. Since it relies heavily on cellular towers for positioning, clear placement helps the device perform as designed, even indoors where cellular signals can penetrate.
Unfortunately, the battery on the Eco1 is not user-replaceable. The Eco1 is designed as a disposable tracker for convenience and ease of use in single-trip or short-term tracking scenarios.
